SEEK, and you will find . . .
Recently, a couple of St. Michael parishioners were asked the question, “Why is Eucharistic Adoration important to you?” I was edified by their answers:
“I had a young friend (with a family and full-time job) tell me that she’d had a Holy Hour for 20 years and that I needed one! So, with her prompt I showed up in the chapel weekly for an hour. (No assigned time). In the quietness of the chapel, I learned that the Lord was awaiting me. I’ve had an assigned hour for 6 years! When I see others make time to worship and pray in the chapel, I wanted to be a part of the “encounter” with Jesus.” – Sue Vint
“This hour allows me to spend quality time with our Lord. Time to listen and time to share what is on my heart with our God. With all of the distractions in my week, this hour offers to me interruption free time with our Lord. It is truly a gift.” – Ted Sasse
Many of you, I am certain, have extraordinary reasons why Eucharistic Adoration brings you so much peace. It does for me, as well, and that is why I invite you to SEEK the Lord in His true presence for one hour a week. I honestly believe that time spent with our Lord is invaluable, and the gift He offers to us should not be ignored.
Please, won’t you consider signing up for an hour of adoration per week? If the commitment seems overwhelming, ask someone to switch off with you every other week. If you are concerned about falling asleep during an overnight hour, don’t be. It is okay to sleep in the presence of the Lord. He simply wants to be with us.
“Our lives must be woven around the Eucharist…fix our eyes on Him who is the light; bring your hearts close to His Divine Heart; ask Him to grant you the grace of knowing Him, the love of loving Him, the courage to serve Him. SEEK Him fervently.” – Saint Mother Teresa
The parish that prays together, grows stronger together. Please contact Cindy Schilmoeller at [email protected] or 402-488-1313 with questions.
With every good wish,
