Saint Michael

Catholic Church

Pastoral Plan

St. Michael Catholic Church Pastoral Plan

The "Big Why"
God made me to know Him, to love Him, and to serve Him in his work, and to be happy with Him forever in heaven. (Baltimore Catechism)
Purpose
"Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you."(Matthew 28:19)
Vision
"And like living stones, let St. Michael be built into a spiritual house to glorify God and sanctify man." (referencing 1 Peter 2:5)
Mission
St. Michael Catholic Church is a community of missionary disciples, dedicated to prayer and worship, nourished by the sacraments, emboldened by the Word of God, and sent forth by the Holy Spirit to bring others to Jesus Christ through love and charity.
     1. Prayer and Worship (Acts 1:13-14; Acts 1:24; Matthew 28:17)
     2. Sacraments (Acts 2: 38; Acts 2:41; Matthew 28:17)
     3. Scripture (Acts 2:42; Matthew 28:20; 1 Peter 2:5)
     4.  Evangelization (Acts 2:47; Matthew 28:19)
     5. Charity (Acts 2:42-45)
Core Values
Respect for the dignity of all human life. We value the dignity of every soul from conception to natural death.
The Sunday Experience. Through our hymns, hospitality and homilies, we strive to create an engaging, welcoming, and prayerful Sunday experience and a parish environment conducive to prayer and worship of our Lord.
Stewardship. Giving back to the Lord and his Church in gratitude for the gifts He has bestowed on us. These include time, treasure and talent to the parish community and as missionary disciples to others.
Sustainability. Long-term vision is critical to sustaining our parish for future generations. Decisions are made with a "generations-to-come" perspective.
Excellence. Discern the "best". To strive for excellence in pleasing the Lord and understanding the fullness of His word. "To discern what is of value, so that you may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ", Phil.1:10

Matthew 28:19-20

19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.
