Assistant Principal Job Opening

St. Michael Catholic School is seeking a faith-filled, mission-driven educational leader to serve as our Assistant Principal. This newly established position reflects our commitment to implementing our Strategic Plan and strengthening instructional leadership, student support, operational excellence, and continuous school improvement.

The Assistant Principal will partner with the Principal, Pastor, faculty, and staff to advance the mission of St. Michael Catholic School by fostering academic excellence, supporting the faith formation of students, strengthening school systems, and building a culture of collaboration, accountability, and servant leadership. This individual will play a key role in translating the school's strategic priorities into measurable outcomes by leading implementation efforts, monitoring progress, and promoting continuous improvement across all areas of school life.

The Assistant Principal will:

  • Lead implementation of the school's Strategic Plan and school improvement initiatives. 
  • Provide instructional leadership through curriculum review, coaching, professional development, and assessment. 
  • Oversee the Resource Department, including Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), student discipline, attendance, restorative practices, intervention services, and student support processes. 
  • Supervise Preschool and designated student support and operational departments. 
  • Coordinate daily school operations, scheduling, supervision, safety, and emergency preparedness. 
  • Mentor and support faculty while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. 
  • Build strong partnerships with students, families, parish leadership, and the broader school community. 
  • Serve as a visible Catholic leader who models the mission and values of St. Michael Catholic School.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church
  • Commitment to the mission of Catholic education
  • Nebraska Administrative Certificate (or ability to obtain) 

Preferred:

  • Nebraska Administrative Certificate (or ability to obtain)
  • Minimum of five years successful teaching experience
    • Demonstrated leadership experience
    • Strong organizational and communication skills
    • Commitment to collaborative leadership
    • Experience with MTSS and restorative practices
    • Experience supervising staff
    • Knowledge of curriculum and instructional best practices
