Two Voices
We have to juxtapose the “thief [who] comes only to steal and kill and destroy” (cf. John 10:10) and the Father of Goodness. Both have voices that speak definitively but at times can be difficult to hear clearly. In Matthew 17:5 the Father speaks at the Transfiguration by saying, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased; listen to him.” At the Transfiguration, Jesus’s divinity is revealed, and the Father’s voice makes clear to Peter, James, and John both His tone and the intention behind His words. The Father always leads His children into further intimacy with His Son Jesus. Jesus being the sum of the Father’s love for us is a mystery of the most profound goodness — a goodness we are called to encounter every day as a reminder of our inheritance on the other side of Eternity.
So, the question is how? How do we discern these two voices — the father of lies vs. the Father of Goodness.

The Evening of Formation will be the 4th Tuesday of every month, beginning with an introductory session on Tuesday, August 25th, from 6–7:30pm in the commons, followed by Rule 1 on Tuesday, September 22nd.
